Sleeping With the Fat Girl

Let's face it. We've all been there.
You meet her. She's fun. She has a great personality. And you're having the time of your life.
But there's this one thing - she's fat. Real fat.
One night, though, you're liquored up and you convince yourself that this could work and two of you have crazy sex, like 4-year-old kids bouncing around a jumpy tent at a birthday party.
And the next morning you wake up to reality. A heavy, sobering reality that looks you straight in the eyes and says, "This can't happen. You can't be seen with the fat girl!"
So you shamefully rush out that fat girl's door...forever.
And that's exactly what happened on Project Runway the other night.
Project Runway has flirted with Chris from the very beginning. They loved his infectious laugh, his loud clothes and his outrageous costumes.
He was a great time and he made great TV.
But at the end of the day, it's the fashion industry.
And really, is there anything more superficial than fashion?
Poor, fat Chris never had a chance, despite out-designing Rami by a mile.
Rami clothes were hideous and fit the models as if he had sewn the outfits in the dark; it was truly the collection from hell.
Whereas Chris did the impossible, he made human hair look good on clothes. When has that ever been done in fashion history?
Alas, it was not meant to be. You could see and palpably feel the shame of the judges when they dismissed him.
They knew he deserved to win and they really did like him a lot, but they just couldn't be seen with him. Not at Bryant Park!
So Chris smiled, laughed and said his good-byes. Not mad. Not even surprised.
Because if there is one thing fat people understand, it's rejection. He saw it coming before any of us.
