Why Do The Good Ones Die Young?

I woke this morning and felt like someone had hit me in the head with a 2x4. I really couldn’t believe Heath Ledger was dead.
Why is it always the good actors that die so young?
It’s so unfair, why isn’t it ever an actor like Pauly Shore or David Hasselhoff?
No, it’s always got to be the likes of James Dean, River Phoenix and now Heath Ledger. It’s a sad, sad phenomenon.
Some of the most promising young actors are taken away too early. James Dean was only 24, River Phoenix was 23 and Heath Ledger was the oldest at 28. Two were drug related and one was the result of a car accident.
All three were tragedies, especially to those of us who love going to the movies. I think they should close movie houses across the country for at least a day. Do something to show it's a very sad time.
At the very least, give me a free soda with my popcorn.
Oddly, all three actors seem to have been cut from the same cloth. When acting, they jumped off the screen. Their performances were both vulnerable and volatile, but above all, believable.
Their time on screen meant something…to the film and to the audience.
And now that’s gone and we’re left with the wooden performances of Keanu Reeves to sustain us.
I’ll miss Heath. It’s sad to say good-bye to another great one.
RIP Heath Ledger (1979-2008)
