Holiday Inn: No Room for Global Warming

If the world turns into a Crockpot and cooks most of us, business will most assuredly suffer.
Such is the new marketing gospel at Holiday Inn and they’re doing something about the problem to celebrate Earth Day.
The plan: Send thousands of ice machines from the hotel to ice floes and melting glacial areas to replenish the ice.
“Come hell or high water, we’re going to fight this thing and that’s why we’ve sent the machines to replace ice where it’s needed the most,” proclaims buoyant Marketing Director Brett McClain.
The program has created quite a media stir. The ice machines began arriving via icebreaker and helicopter to their new homes last week.
Only then did someone then realized there wasn’t anywhere to plug the machines in.
It seems ice machines need electricity to create ice.
Presently, the ice machines sit on arctic ice floes and in glacial fields awaiting some source of power, while the marketing team at Holiday Inn considers alternative measures.
“I don’t think anyone could have foreseen the electrical problem, but we’ll solve it. Maybe we’ll put little tiny solar panels on the machines, we haven’t decided yet,” says Brett.
Luckily there is a bright side - say the worst does happens and the ice melts, then ice machines can be turned into nice, little summer homes for all the displaced penguins and seals.
So in the end, everybody wins.
